From the President...
Welcome to HBSAO and Oregon,
Oregon is a great place to work and live. A bit away from the maddening crowd, there is space to reflect and find the balance in life. Because it is not a very formal environment, there are many opportunities to roll up our sleeves, pursue our interests alone or collectively and to make a difference.
HBSAO is an association for fellowship, learning, and celebration of the difference of alumni fostered by that common, some say transformative, experience at HBS.
It’s truly a great honor to have been recently elected President of the HBS Association of Oregon. At this time the HBSAO committee serves from September, 2007 to May 2008 to facilitate the six or seven annual events and to continue the traditions of the Association. Beyond these core events, members are encouraged to suggest and run events and groups of interest to them.
Special thanks goes to Andrew Berlinberg, MBA 1989, our last President, the other past officers and presidents especially, Verne R. Naito, MBA 1982, and Richard (Dick) B Keller, MBA 1952 for their support and counsel.
I am particularly fortunate to be at the helm for what will be two very important and meaningful years in the school's history. HBS will be celebrating the school's Centennial from this September through October of 2008. In addition to a major Centennial celebration in Boston in October, 2008--which many of us will likely attend, each HBS alumni and affinity clubs throughout the world have been asked to work with HBS to hold one or more Centennial events in their local alumni area. HBSAO will have a special event in February or March, 2008 to celebrate locally. This committee for the event is headed by Verne Naito. Please call him if you can help. More details will follow.
Yours sincerely,
Kelvin Ng
