Harvard - Yale Football Game!
THE GAME looks like it will be very exciting! Here's why:
"Harvard beat Penn 23-7 on Saturday to set up a showdown with archrival Yale next weekend for the Ivy League championship.
We are ready for the broadcast at the Blitz Bar in the Pearl District. Details below. If you have not already responded, please drop a quick email reply so we have a headcount. If your plans are still uncertain, just show up anyway.
The Game, 124th edition In Portland at the Blitz Bar in the Pearl District 110 NW 10th Avenue, Portland, OR 9:00 a.m. till noon Details: The Blitz, a sports bar in the Pearl, will host our viewing of the Harvard-Yale Game. The atmosphere is cozy, with abundant flat panel displays that will be tuned to The Game. The cover charge of $5 for dues-current members and $10 for the dues-challenge gets you a name tag, a cup of coffee, a warm seat indoors, and conversation with some extremely interesting people, even if you sit by yourself. You can also order breakfast and other beverages from the menu on your own tab, or, if it's been a great year financially, pick up the tab for another alum. (The Blitz may also offer a breakfast buffet.) The Blitz has the Pearl charm of a renovated brick factory with exposed timbers. For kids and teens, there are a few tables for board games upstairs, far enough from alcohol service to be OK. Last year when The Game ended with a Crimson crumble, the Yale alums serenaded us with Boola, Boola- a rare and ebullient performance. Come see if they will have occasion for a reprise this year. Family and friends are also welcome. To RSVP, please send an email to: kelyjensen@aol.com so we have a headcount for planning. Thanks and best regards, For the Harvard Club of Oregon and SW Washington, Kelly Jensen
